Frequently Asked Questions

This page should answer some of your questions about our online marketing services. If you have more questions, we will be happy to answer them with no obligation. You can email us at [email protected] or ring 353 (0) 14429970

What do you look for in prospective clients ?

Results-driven people and competitive industries. The more niche the market, the easier the job. And the more you understand the ins and outs of marketing your business offline, the more effective integrating your online marketing will be.

What kind of payment models do you offer ?

We offer different options for different projects. * Flat-Fee – defined duration, no surprises. * Hourly – variable duration, flexible scope. * Per-Click – ongoing, based on site traffic. Within minutes we can usually find a handful of opportunities to increase a website’s effectiveness. Those findings are worth a lot, even if the job only takes minutes. We try to be fair by splitting the difference between an hourly rate and the likely benefit.

When do I need an eMarketing consultant?

Early, preferably before a site is designed. We can work with your designer to avoid the fatal flaws that result in costly revisions. Or we can offer design and marketing as a complete package for maximum results.

Why is search engine positioning so important?

A recent study by Jupiter Media demonstrated that search engine positioning generates a better return of investment than any other conventional forms of marketing. Search engine marketing gives you a better return than television, radio, direct mail, print ads or trade shows. Google currently has BILLIONS of web pages in their index. Search engines today receive hundreds of millions of searches per day. If your web site is not appearing within the first two pages of these results you are missing thousands of qualified leads. Over 55% of all Internet purchases begin with a search engine, so it only makes sense to target people who are already looking for you in the first place. The quality of these leads are incredibly high as these are people who are specifically interested in your products or services …right now. Having a top ranking in a major search engine is like having a full page ad in the Yellow Pages in every major city of the world. Our clients have seen incredible growth in their sales as a result of being moved to the top of the search engines.

How do search engine listings compare to banner ads, bulk email, or affiliate programs?

A study conducted by a research group specialising in consumer purchasing and behavior, tested the impact of search listings, bulk email, and affiliate programs across a variety of target markets to determine which was most effective. In every situation, search engine listings came out on top. Results? Consumers are 12 times more likely to purchase your products or services after finding your web site through a search engine than all these other programs combined. That said, you should not ignore the effectiveness of other media. It takes 6-8 impressions to create brand recall in the mind of your prospective customer. Accordingly, your long-term marketing strategy will be most effective through integration of online and offline activities that utilise a mix of marketing tools.

What about those who claim to Submit your Web Site to Over 3500 Search Engines?

Run away! It doesn’t matter the direction, only that you run away – FAST. Not only are these “submitting only” services a waste of your money, but they can actually hurt your rankings. These companies typically promise to submit your web site to literally thousands of search engines on a monthly schedule for a cost of anywhere between $10 to $149. They often claim that it is very important to resubmit each month. The vast majority of these submitting companies are simply individuals who have purchased an automated website submission software for under $100 who have very little understanding about how search engines work. Site optimisation can improve your ranking. Submission of an un-optimised web site just doesn’t work. We could go on and on about search engines, but what it is important to remember is that search engines thrive or fail on the quality of their results. When someone searches for information on wookles, they aren’t happy when the results have lots of irrelevant results about yonks and zerbles. That is why Google has grown to the level it has. Its goal is to put forth the most relevant results on a search. When you look at search engines from a marketing perspective you don’t care about attracting traffic looking for yonks and zerbles if you are selling wookles. Online marketing is about bringing the most qualified prospects through your virtual shop door. The rest are just tyre kickers. A final word, at least here with this question, about search engines. Monthly re-submission is a form of spam to search engines, so they often reject web sites submitted over and over this way. A few years ago this did have some merit, but now it can lead to your domain being flagged as spam. You should never resubmit to an engine unless your listing has dropped out of its database.

What is Google’s PageRank Anyway?

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important.” Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don’t match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page’s content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it’s a good match for your query. back to top

What is Our Website Submission Strategy?

We submit your website manually to all the major engines and directories. We also seek out high quality search engines and directories in your industry. We DO NOT re-submit unless your listing has dropped. These one-time submissions will dramatically improve your link popularity and website ranking in major engines like Google.

What about Pay-Per-Click Programs?

Some search engines offer a service in which you bid for top positions on certain keywords. The highest bidder for a chosen term ranks highest in the search engine results for this term, the next highest appears second etc. The price of the bid is charged to you whenever a user clicks on your entry. The more you bid, the higher your listing is ranked. Depending on your product, how much gross profit you make from it, and what your conversion ratio is, it can be very profitable. But if you are a small business owner starting out on the web with lots of competitors, the bidding war can drive prices out of your reach, making it impossible to compete with the big companies who can afford this potentially expensive method of advertising. Our service is about creating an integrated on- and offline marketing solution. We strive to give you the most exposure for the least amount of money.

What about Meta-Tags?

Today, few search engines seriously scores meta keywords. Instead, they analyze title tags, image tags, link structure, directory structure, keyword density, relevancy, prominence, and proximity, total words on a page, word repetitions, total words in specific areas, alt tags, input tags, javascript, comment lines, domain name, directory name, filename, etc. The list goes on and on. Some engines use over 100 things to rank a page. Plus each search engine has it’s own unique way of ranking pages, so you need to fine-tune different pages to exactly match the criteria of each one. Not only do they rank sites according to different parameters, but they change their criteria on a regular basis. Again, site optimisation, while a major component of your site rising above the millions of pages being search each day, is only part of an overall online strategy. back to top

What Exactly Does your Firm Do for Me?

We help you to develop an online marketing strategy that integrates with your offline marketing. Search engines are only one part of all that we know about doing business on the Internet. We will pull out all the stops and share with you valuable tips and techniques that will increase your business’s profitability, and make sure you avoid costly mistakes that cause others to lose time and money. You will receive direct advice, tested techniques, insider secrets, and honest feedback about your web site. Again, we optimize your site to rank in the top 10 of the major search engines, for your desired keyword phrases. We specially fine-tune your pages to exactly match the criteria of the biggest search engines, giving them exactly what they look for in a top listing, based on the latest search engine intelligence. And, we submit your site to all of the major search engines manually. We then track each submission to make sure each engine picked up your site, and send you a detailed web site ranking report to show you exactly where you are positioned in the major engines.

How Long Does this Take?

Each engine indexes at a different rate, but as a general rule, you must allow at least 2 months before search engines will apply ranking to new content. In Google, most experts agree that new content is placed in a reserve for about 3 months before it even has a chance to achieve good ranking. This is called the “Sandbox Effect.” According to this popular theory, new web pages and links are placed in “quarantine” for at least 8 to 12 weeks of evaluation before they are allowed to gain any top rankings. Beware of companies who promise “Fast” results. We don’t make these empty promises. There is just no way to “speed up” this process, because each search engine has it’s own agenda for spidering and ranking websites. This does take time, but our clients don’t rely solely on search engines for their online marketing. Have a dynamic, results-oriented integrated marketing strategy and before long there will be visitors arriving at your site from all directions.
